Gen.G Coach Ryu Predicts Hanwha Life Esports in LCK Finals
Gen.G head coach Yoo Sang-wook ("Ryu") predicted that Hanwha Life Esports will be their opponent in the LCK finals, following the team's 3-1 victory in the upper bracket final.
Gen.G secured their eighth consecutive LCK finals appearance after defeating Hanwha Life Esports 3-1 at the LCK Arena in Grand Seoul LP on September 5. The win advanced them directly to the championship match.
Discussing the series, Ryu noted that the team felt satisfied with their in-game execution and draft synergy. He explained that they specifically drafted to counter Hanwha Life's strong jungle and support-focused playstyle. Regarding the first game loss, he acknowledged that while they snowballed early, their composition became relatively disadvantaged in the late game, leading to a reversal. From the second game onward, the team focused on securing value and building more balanced champion combinations.
Looking ahead, Ryu stated that while all three remaining teams have a chance to reach the finals, he personally believes Hanwha Life has the highest probability. With about a week until the championship, Gen.G plans to finalize their tier list for the current patch and prepare their strategy once the opponent is confirmed.
