G2 Esports and Evil Geniuses Survive Brutal Play-Ins to Reach Americas Stage 2 Playoffs
Americas Stage 2 Play-Ins concluded with the final two playoff spots secured as G2 Esports and Evil Geniuses survived grueling lower bracket runs to join MIBR and FURIA in the confirmed field.
G2 Esports never enjoyed a clean path through the winners' side, falling to FURIA in Upper Bracket Round 2 before entering a lower bracket gauntlet. They defeated BESTIA and then faced Envy for the final spot. Babybay carried the series with a plus-17 K/D and 245 ACS, helping G2 close it out 2-1 by taking Lotus and Haven after dropping Ascent. Keznit's MVP performance on Envy's side with 258 ACS wasn't enough to keep the series alive, ending Envy's Play-Ins run.
Evil Geniuses faced their own detour after falling to FURIA in Upper Bracket Round 3. Facing KRÜ Esports for the last qualifying slot, they dropped Lotus 9-13 before dgzin took over. He posted a 273 ACS and a plus-22 K/D to power a 13-9 win on Sunset and a lopsided 13-3 victory on Summit. Less put up a strong 197 ACS for KRÜ, but it wasn't enough to stop the bracket run.
With MIBR and FURIA already locked in from the upper bracket, Americas Stage 2 now has its complete playoff field. Both lower bracket survivors carry real momentum into the next round of VCT 2026: Americas.
