FURIA to Face MVK Esports, Cloud9 to Meet Karmine Corp in Worlds 2026 Play-In
The matchups for the first round of the Worlds 2026 Play-In stage have been determined. FURIA is set to face MVK Esports, while Cloud9 will take on Karmine Corp.
The draw took place following the conclusion of the CBLOL 2026 Split 2 grand final, where LOS defeated FURIA 3:2. This victory allowed LOS to secure a higher seed and bypass the Play-In stage entirely.
The four competing teams include MVK Esports as the third seed from LCP, Cloud9 representing LCS, Karmine Corp from LEC, and FURIA. The stage will follow a Double Elimination format with all series played as Bo5. Winners of the first round will move into the upper bracket, while losers will drop to the lower bracket. Only one team will survive this stage to advance to the next phase of the tournament.
Worlds 2026 is scheduled from October 15 to November 14. Nineteen teams from six regions will compete for a $5 million prize pool. The tournament begins with the Play-In stage in Los Angeles, followed by the Swiss and knockout stages in Allen, Texas, concluding with the Grand Final at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
