FURIA and Evil Geniuses Advance to Upper Bracket After Major Upsets at VCT Americas

FURIA stopped G2's momentum. The European team arrived as Stage 1 champions with a clear path to playoffs in mind, but FURIA didn't care. Koalanoob took MVP with 248 ACS across three maps, helping FURIA win Haven and Breeze after dropping Split. Now G2 Esports drop to the lower bracket alongside Cloud9, Sentinels, and KRÜ.

Evil Geniuses flipped the script on Cloud9. While Cloud9 were favored, their star OXY couldn't carry it alone — 299 ACS and MVP honours in a losing effort. Evil Geniuses took Haven and Sunset after Cloud9 ran through them on Breeze 13-6. dgzin led EG with 219 ACS. Now Cloud9 head to the lower bracket.

MIBR LOS and ENVY also defeated KRÜ Esports and Sentinels respectively, securing their spots in the upper bracket. In the next round, MIBR will face ENVY, while FURIA takes on Evil Geniuses. The winners of these matches will earn direct Stage 2 Playoffs spots, while the losers drop into the lower bracket where G2, Cloud9, Sentinels, and KRÜ are already waiting for a second chance at qualification.
