Former Dying Light franchise lead joins Broken Mirror Games
Former Dying Light franchise director from Techland, Tymon Smektala, is joining Bloober Team. He will serve as the executive director for Broken Mirror Games, the studio's dedicated horror imprint.
The move was announced by Smektala via LinkedIn. After a 13-year tenure at Techland, he will now focus on shaping the creative direction and portfolio of the new label. His role involves collaborating with external studios to bring fresh perspectives to the horror genre.
Broken Mirror Games operates as a co-development label under Bloober Team. The imprint's current production lineup includes Saw: Genesis and Onyx: The Dark Grip. Smektala intends to oversee these titles while actively seeking new creative partnerships and projects.
Since its announcement in 2024, Broken Mirror Games has released Star Trek: Infection and I Hate This Place. The parent company, Bloober Team, founded in 2008, is widely recognized for titles such as Blair Witch, Layers of Fear, and the Silent Hill 2 remake.
