Developer Vibe codes tool to raise power limits for RTX 50-series laptops
While official details regarding next-generation mobile graphics are still under wraps, reports suggest a new way for enthusiasts to tweak their hardware. A developer known as Vibe is reportedly working on a tool designed to let laptop owners with NVIDIA RTX 50-Series GPUs increase their power limits.
As reported by Tom's Hardware, this utility aims to unlock higher performance levels by bypassing standard power constraints. Specifically, the tool could potentially allow the RTX 5090 Mobile to reach a power draw of up to 225W.
However, the practical utility of such a tool depends heavily on the thermal design of the specific laptop. If a device's cooling system is not engineered to handle these higher wattage levels, increasing the power limit may lead to thermal throttling or overheating. Since the project is still in development, its actual impact and safety for everyday users remain unconfirmed.
