CounterSide: Ante Exilian Revealed as Studio B's Reboot Project
Studio Bisside has officially announced CounterSide: Ante Exilian, the long-awaited reboot of its urban fantasy RPG CounterSide. The studio revealed the project on September 2, 2026, following the conclusion of the original game's service on August 26, 2026.
The original CounterSide launched in February 2020 and maintained its service for nearly six years. During its lifespan, the title underwent significant structural changes, including a transition from Nexon publishing to self-service. Despite these shifts, the game found a dedicated audience through its distinctive line-battle mechanics, high-quality 2D sprite characters, and a narrative focused on heroes striving to prevent a global catastrophe.
The community's interest in the franchise's future remained high even after the original service ended. This was partly due to the closure of the offline theme cafe Cafe Strega on June 28, and the subsequent promise by CEO Ryu Geun-tae to return with a reboot project. Today's announcement marks the official realization of that promise, as Studio Bisside launched the official social media channels for CounterSide: Ante Exilian.
Currently, the official social media pages have only released the game title, logo, and a key visual featuring main characters Hilde, Yumina, and Ju Si-yoon, alongside the main ship Glæfr. No in-game details have been disclosed yet. However, the genre is described in the social media profile as a "hardboiled urban rain battler," suggesting that the reboot will evolve and inherit the line-battle elements that defined the original title.
Further information regarding CounterSide: Ante Exilian is expected to be updated through the official social media channels in the future.
