Cooler Master launches GPU Shield in US

Cooler Master has officially brought its GPU Shield adapter to the US market. The 12V-2x6 protection device is now listed in stock for $49.99, with shipments originating from California.

Per-pin monitoring and automatic protection

The GPU Shield technology, which was first showcased at CES 2026, is available both as an integrated feature in power supplies and as a standalone adapter that sits between the PSU cable and the graphics card. This specific standalone version focuses on preventing connector damage through active monitoring.

The adapter features individual-pin monitoring for abnormal current. To alert users to electrical issues, it utilizes a multi-color LED ring and an integrated buzzer. Furthermore, the device includes an automatic protection mode designed to mitigate serious electrical abnormalities by reducing system power consumption to prevent further hardware damage.

The unit features a 200 mm cable with a dual-color 12+4-pin connector, intended to help users visually confirm that the plug is fully seated in the socket.

Warranty differences in the US market

While the hardware specifications remain consistent, the warranty terms for the US version differ from those previously seen in China. In the Chinese market, Cooler Master offered a three-year warranty that included compensation if a connector melted under standard operating conditions. In contrast, the US version comes with only a one-year warranty, and the official US product page makes no mention of compensation for melted connectors.

The GPU Shield technology is also utilized in Cooler Master's MWE Gold V4 power supplies. For users with existing power supplies that support 12V-2x6 or 12+4-pin connectors, this standalone adapter provides a way to access monitoring features without requiring a full PSU upgrade.
