BlizzCon 2026, Midnight 12.1.5, and More in This Week’s WoW Weekly

The upcoming BlizzCon 2026 event at the Anaheim Convention Center will feature a mix of live programming, competitive esports, and exclusive in-game content for World of Warcraft. Attendees and remote viewers can participate in the festivities through official livestreams and specific promotional rewards tied to the event schedule.

For those watching from home, Blizzard will stream select programming live. Viewers can claim a set of rewards by watching eligible World of Warcraft streams on Twitch.tv from September 12 at 9:30 am PDT to September 27 at 10:00 am PDT, or on the official World of Warcraft YouTube channel from September 12 at 9:30 am PDT until September 13 at 7:00 pm PDT. The reward package includes 200 Trader’s Tender, the Cuddly Blue Grrgle housing decor item, the Fluffy Comfy Flying Quilt mount, and the Venomous champion’s Illustrious Banner. Physical attendees can also receive these items by linking their BlizzCon Pass to their Battle.net account by September 18, 2026. Eligibility and specific rewards may vary depending on the game, stream, and platform.

The competitive scene will see the return of the Arena World Championship and Mythic Dungeon International Grand Finals to BlizzCon for the first time since 2019. The top teams in World of Warcraft will compete on the BlizzCon Stage on September 12 and 13 for the BlizzCon trophy and a share of the $600,000 combined prize pool.

In terms of game content, the Midnight 12.1.5 update is currently available on the Public Test Realm. This patch continues the narrative following the defeat of Ula’tek in the Curse of Ula’tek, delving into the prison of Kith’ix. The update introduces several new features, including the story campaign The Promise of Tomorrow, the single-boss raid The Unbinding of Kith’ix, the expanded delve-like experience Labyrinths, the outdoor event Aqir Invasion, and a mid-season refresh for Ascendant Venomstones.

Additionally, the third wing of the Venomous Abyss raid finder is now live. This eight-boss raid dungeon features Ula’tek as the final encounter, awakened by the actions of Zul’jin. Players can gather allies to progress through the vaults and face the ancient force of hatred and corruption in her inner sanctum.

On a charitable note, the Roofus Pack promotion has raised more than $1.3 million USD for Habitat for Humanity. Earlier this year, players adopted Roofus as an in-game companion pet across modern World of Warcraft and WoW Classic progression realms. Blizzard donated 100% of the purchase price of the pack to the organization, with the support of players who adopted the pet and shared the promotion helping to reach this milestone.
