BeXide announces Cat and Paste! — a chaotic prop hunt party game
Studio BeXide has announced Cat and Paste!, a chaotic prop hunt party game for up to 16 players. In this hide-and-seek showdown, cats can transform into anything to outsmart their hunters.
The core gameplay revolves around the "Copy" and "Paste" mechanics. Cats can use the "Copy" function to transform into any stage object, whether it is a small crate or a massive tree. By using "Paste," players can multiply these decoys and even change their colors, allowing them to create massive, colorful obstacles to hide in plain sight.
Hunters are tasked with tracking down the disguised cats. They are equipped with a hammer that can wipe out clusters of pasted objects and a rifle that triggers a chain reaction through connected decoys. To give hunters a fighting chance, the game includes subtle visual cues: some cats might have a tail or face peeking out, and pasted objects may appear slightly warped.
The game features two distinct modes: Hide & Seek Royale, where players transition from cats to hunters, and Hide & Seek WARS, an infection-style mode where caught cats join the hunter team. Additionally, an Edit Mode allows players to collaborate on building and saving their own custom stages before a match begins.
