ASUS launches UGen Arc Pro B70: 32 GB VRAM for €1,799
ASUS has entered the AI accelerator market with its own version of the UGen Arc Pro B70, built on Intel's Battlemage architecture. The card is designed to handle large language models (LLM) and AI-intensive tasks, featuring a substantial 32 GB of video memory.
Technical Specifications and Performance
The card is powered by the "BMG-G31" GPU based on the Xe2 architecture. It features 32 Xe-cores and 256 XMX units dedicated to AI acceleration. The hardware reaches a boost clock of 2,800 MHz, delivering 22.94 TFLOPS of FP32 performance. For INT8 operations, the accelerator is capable of up to 367 TOPS.
The 32 GB of GDDR6 memory operates at 19 Gbps over a 256-bit interface, providing a total bandwidth of 608 GB/s. A notable difference from the Intel reference design is the power profile: while the standard Arc Pro B70 is rated at 230W, the ASUS variant specifies a TDP of 310W. Power is supplied via a single 12V-2×6 connector. The cooling solution utilizes a blower-style fan that exhausts hot air through the chassis slot bracket, and its dual-slot design allows for up to four cards in a single workstation.
Software Ecosystem and AI Capabilities
ASUS leverages the existing Intel AI ecosystem, ensuring compatibility with OpenVINO, oneAPI, PyTorch XPU, and vLLM XPU. It also supports llama.cpp (via SYCL or Vulkan), Ollama, and ComfyUI for image generation. Additionally, the Intel LLM Scaler provides solutions for INT4 and FP8 quantization, enabling more memory-efficient LLM execution without relying on NVIDIA's CUDA-based tools.
Beyond AI, the UGen Arc Pro B70 supports standard graphics and compute APIs, including OpenCL 3.0, OpenGL 4.6, and Vulkan 1.3. For display output, the card provides three DisplayPort 2.1 ports and one HDMI 2.1b output.
Pricing and Availability
Priced at €1,799, the UGen Arc Pro B70 sits significantly above the original $949 MSRP of the Intel reference model. The card is available now in German-speaking markets.
