ASUS Unveils ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Edition 20 Anniversary Router
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of its ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand, ASUS has released the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Edition 20. This special edition is a celebratory reimagining of the high-end Wi-Fi 7 router originally launched in 2024.
Anniversary Aesthetics
The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Edition 20 features a distinct visual identity compared to the standard Rapture GT-BE98. The design utilizes a black and gold color scheme, incorporating mirror-finish elements and a diamond-cut commemorative badge. Even the web interface has been updated with a custom color theme to match the premium ROG aesthetic.
Performance and Connectivity
While the exterior is unique, the internal hardware remains identical to the original model. The router supports tri-band connectivity across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequencies using the Wi-Fi 7 standard. Peak data rates are rated at 1,376 Mbps for 2.4 GHz, 5,764 Mbps for the 5 GHz bands, and 11,529 Mbps for the 6 GHz band.
To handle high-bandwidth networking, the device is equipped with:
- Dual 10G ports for ultra-fast wired connections;
- Quad "2.5G" Ethernet ports.
The physical dimensions are 350.41 × 350.41 × 220.6 mm, including the antennas.
Pricing and Availability
The retail price for this anniversary edition is set at 159,800 yen. This release targets enthusiasts and collectors looking for top-tier networking performance paired with exclusive brand memorabilia.
