At Tokyo Game Show 2026, AndGAMER showcased a technology aimed at solving a perennial problem for gamers: finding the perfect mouse for their hand size and playstyle. Developed in collaboration with Chukyo University, the system uses physical hand measurements and aiming performance data to recommend the optimal peripheral.
At the AndGAMER booth, visitors can place their hands under a specialized camera for instant scanning. The system measures finger length and palm thickness to suggest one of three sizes (S, M, or L), which differ in both dimensions and height.
The core innovation lies in its dual-axis approach: matching subjective "feel" with objective performance. The system compares user data against a database of previous subjects, identifying which mouse size resulted in the highest aiming scores for people with similar hand dimensions. This helps bridge the gap between how a player perceives a mouse and how they actually perform with it.
To increase precision, the testing includes mice equipped with pressure sensors. These sensors track the force applied to buttons and side grips, measuring how much pressure each finger exerts during movement. This data is vital because the ideal mouse shape depends heavily on the user's grip style.
According to the developers, research into how different grip styles impact performance is ongoing. The goal is to refine the system's accuracy, potentially turning mouse selection from a matter of intuition into a data-driven standard for gamers.
