Alphacool has introduced a white variant of the Apex 1 CPU water block designed for the AMD AM5 platform. The update focuses on visual design for white-themed custom loops rather than any changes to the internal cooling architecture.
The white Apex 1 is an aesthetic expansion of the existing lineup. The core cooling technology remains identical to the black model, featuring a nickel-plated copper base, an aluminum housing, and chrome accents. This release is aimed at PC builders who require a consistent white color scheme throughout their custom liquid cooling loop.
Cooling Architecture and Flow Dynamics
The block utilizes an offset base design, which Alphacool claims positions the water injection directly over the processor's hotspot to optimize heat transfer. The internal structure combines cross-slot microchannels with the 3D-Jetplate 2.0, a design intended to increase water pressure beneath the cooling surface. A pre-chamber is also included to stabilize flow before it reaches the jetplate.
It is important to note that the Apex 1 is a component for custom loops, not a standalone AIO cooler. Its real-world performance depends heavily on the rest of the system, including the pump, radiator, and flow rate.
