Ainex HUB-12 USB Hub Features Gigabit Ethernet
Ainex has launched the HUB-12, a compact USB hub designed to provide a stable wired internet connection for modern laptops. The device integrates one 1000BASE-T Ethernet port alongside three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.
The networking capabilities are driven by a Realtek RTL8153 controller, supporting Gigabit Ethernet speeds. The hub operates via USB Bus Power, drawing its energy directly from the host device without the need for an external power supply. However, Ainex notes that because the bandwidth is shared, users might experience a drop in transfer speeds when using the USB ports and the LAN port simultaneously.
The hub provides three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, offering a theoretical maximum data transfer rate of 5 Gbps. It is designed for broad compatibility, supporting Windows 11, SteamOS, Linux, Android, and macOS (with macOS support depending on the specific device chipset). The device is plug-and-play, utilizing standard OS drivers without requiring manual installation.
In terms of physical dimensions, the HUB-12 measures 23×85×16.5 mm (excluding the cable), with a cable length of approximately 13 cm. The product is available at a retail price ranging from ¥1,880 to ¥1,980.
